Drew Dalawn last night with china marker. Lighting was a compromise between sculptors and painters. Between the highlights on his forehead and the darkest shadows of his hair, there were a full range of values. I considered removing the tan line from his arm, but only for a moment. I was more interested in drawing what I was seeing.
